- Look for him at the Corinth - Alcorn County Humane Society every day as you are the only one that can positively identify your pet. Fill out a LOST REPORT with the shelter staff or on-line.
- Provide the Humane Society with a photo of your pet so they can better keep a look out for him.
- Place a Classified Ad in the LOST section of your daily newspaper.
- Post signs in your neighborhood. Include a full description of the animal and a photograph. The photograph on the sign will usually reproduce well on a high quality copy machine.
- If you are able to afford it, offering a reward for the return of your animal could be effective.
- Ask your neighbors if they have seen your pet. Let them know that he is missing and give them a description of what he looks like.
- Call the veterinarians in your neighborhood to see if someone had brought your pet to one of them. It is also a good idea to ask if you can post one of your LOST signs in the Vet’s office.
- Check the LOST and FOUND section of your daily newspaper each day.
- Check with the Animal Control Officer in your area to see if they have picked up a deceased animal matching the description of your pet.
When you find your pet, be sure to put his dog license, I.D. tag and collar on him right away. Also consider having him mocrochipped by your veterinarian or our trained professionals at the shelter. This way, if he gets lost again, it will be easier to get him back home.
NOTIFY THE HUMANE SOCIETY WHEN YOU FIND YOUR PET.
