2026 Montgomery County Chinese American Community Health Fair Successfully Held

On October 25, 2026, the Chinese American Community Health Services (CACHS) partnered with the Chinese American Community Organizations (CCCAA) to host the 2026 Montgomery County Chinese American Community Health Fair at the Sunshine Wellness Center in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Serving as the second stop in a series of community health initiatives across the Greater Washington area, the event provided vital medical checkups and public health resources to more than 200 local residents.

Key Services & Highlights

• Comprehensive Health Screenings:

Provided routine testing including body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, bone density, hearing, and depression screenings.

• Medical Consultations: A team of 13 licensed Chinese American physicians and 3 registered nurses volunteered to deliver individualized medical counseling and advice.
• Lab Work & Preventative Care: Distributed physical laboratory results from previously completed blood tests conducted in partnership with the Health Betterment Initiative (HBI) and offered free on-site flu vaccinations through Walgreens.
• Community Food Distribution: Handed out hundreds of packages of fresh food to attending residents for the first time, with support from the non-profit organization So What Else.
• Resource Fair: Featured educational and public service booths from over a dozen local agencies, covering local government health programs, chronic disease prevention, and insurance navigation.

The scale and depth of this year’s event set a new milestone for the organization, made possible by the dedicated support of nearly 60 volunteers, medical experts, community organizations, and student groups like the Chinese Youth Club of Washington (CYOC).
